When divers off the coast of Mexico noticed a sea turtle tangled up in some rope, they immediately set to work to free it. While one diver jumped in and cut the rope, the turtle waited patiently, almost like it knew what was happening. After he was set free, instead of swimming immediately away, the turtle swam right up to the diver and looked him straight in the eyes, almost taking a moment to say thank you.
This video is so beautiful because it shows that animals truly do understand us better than we think, and that they are capable of showing emotion – even an animal like a prehistoric-looking turtle.
