The National Anthem at the Bakersfield Condors' game was supposed to be made even more special; a real-life Condor was scheduled to make an epic appearance and fly across the stadium just as the Anthem ended with the roars of the crowd. Unfortunately for the bird's handler, this beautiful Condor was justifiably petrified by this. So, he did what any wild animal could potentially do in this type of situation and broke free! His owner — the guy who presumably agreed to this rather silly idea — had a very hard time trying to catch him. Seriously, just watch… things start to get really interesting at :55, and I couldn't help but let out a big belly laugh watching this man attempt get the bird back into his grips.
Condors live in rocky forest regions, so it's not surprising that this one got spooked inside a cold, loud place… which is why I felt kind of satisfied when he decided to give his handler a run for his money — which resulted in the announcers (and everyone watching) making jokes at his expense. Mmmm, the smell of sweet revenge!
