It looked like a scene out of an old movie: a hero cowboy catches the wanted criminal as the public cheers on — except, in Eagle Point, OR it was real and it happened in the parking lot of a Walmart. Who would've thought, right?
Robert Borba usually reserves using his lasso on his cattle, but it was recently given an entirely new purpose. He was running errands when he heard a lady yell, "Stop him he stole my bike!”
Sure enough, a man was getting away with a stranger's bike, so Borba grabbed his horse and set after him, rope in hand. From then on, it was just like at a rodeo: the unlikely hero lassoed the criminal, who took a tumble when the rope caught him around the ankles.
Needless to say, police were absolutely baffled when they arrived on the scene.

A cowboy living in Oregon became the center of attention in a Walmart parking lot when he apprehended a bike thief.
Robert Borba effectively lassoed the criminal and the rope caught him around the ankles just before he could get away.
When police showed up on the scene, it was quite a sight: a man on horseback whose rope was tied around the legs of a stranger. It's not something you see every day!
Police arrested the bike thief, thanks to the Borba's quick thinking, levelheadedness, and effective actions.
But Borba doesn't call himself a hero. He says he was simply doing the right thing!
