Rowan O'Neill was shopping at an IGA grocery store in Australia when a panicked mother came running to his register, holding her unconscious 2-year-old daughter in her arms. The toddler had stopped breathing and while most of the shoppers stood back, O'Neill jumped into action.
Grabbing the girl's limp body, he began doing CPR, hoping to dislodge the candy stuck in her throat. He remained calm, and finally, after several nail-biting minutes, the little girl started to breath again! The father grabs O'Neill in a bear hug, thanking him for saving his daughter. When paramedics arrived, they took the little girl to the hospital as a precaution to make sure she was stable. Today, she's doing fine — all thanks to one amazing hero.
