Newswoman Can’t Control Her Laughter After A Hilarious Report

Reporting the news can be tricky. Not only do you have to make sure you're getting all the facts right on live television, but the stories can be filled with overwhelming amounts of emotion that anchors are supposed to deliver with a straight face. That can be even more difficult when an unexpected element pops up.

For New Zealand reporter Hilary Barry, she was caught completely off guard by a particularly amusing phrase while reading the evening newscast. As they discuss a man who claimed to have suffered an "emergency defecation situation," she simply cannot contain her laughter! The rest of the anchors are equally entertained by the silly phrase, but it's Barry who really loses control. It was unfortunate timing, however, considering the next piece of news was a much more somber story of a bomb exploding on an airplane.

Barry tries desperately to cease her fit of giggles, but that seems to only make things worse! I know I've definitely been in a similar situation, but thankfully I've never had to worry about it affecting my job performance. By the end of the clip, she questions whether "today might be the day I lose my job" in a hilarious sing-song voice.

Despite the bout of unprofessionalism, I think Barry's job is safe. Hey, at least she's given the network some global attention!
