Drivers Abandon Their Cars When They Hear THIS. I’ll Never Forget The Reason Why…

When I saw this image, I feared for the absolute worst.

To be honest, it looks like a scene straight out of an end-of-the-world movie, and if you watched the video without knowing anything about it, you'd probably think some kind of emergency was taking place. However, this video, which was filmed on a highway near Tel Aviv, Israel, actually features a very special tradition that will make people all over the world wonder why we don't do the same thing.

In the clip, we hear a loud siren go off and see the motorists get out of their cars. Since sirens are usually used to signal a bomb, it's a very heart-stopping moment. However, this siren signifies something far worse. One day a year, Israel honors the nearly six million Jewish people killed by Nazis in World War II for Holocaust Remembrance Day. They sound the sirens to instruct everyone to stop whatever they're doing, stand up and take a moment of silence…120 seconds of silence, to be exact.

Nothing can make up for this tragic event, which is one of the darkest in human history. This tradition, which is both extremely eerie and moving at the same time, is a great way to make people remember the difficult past and how far the world has come today.

After you've watched the clip, check out this man's incredible story of saving 669 people from Nazi death camps. Modern times might be far from perfect, but both of these videos make me realize just how lucky we are to be living today.

Please SHARE on Facebook if you believe this Holocaust Remembrance Day tradition should take place all over the world.
