Woman Selling Home For $100 — And The Best Chocolate Recipe

Christina Summers was getting ready to sell her grandmother's suburban Maryland house, when she got inspired to do something extraordinary.

Instead the owner of New York City-based chocolate company Dolce Vite says she will give away the home to the person who submits the best chocolate recipe. The entry fee for the contest is $100.

According to her website, she says the reason for the amazing deal is to "honor my Grandmother's love of chocolate that ignited my entrepreneurial life!"

"My Grandma was an excellent cook, particularly in chocolate! She was President of her Home Maker’s club and everyone came to her for the best chocolate recipes. We used to make all kinds of homemade chocolate desserts together, and I want her chocolate making tradition to continue in this house. She gave me this love of chocolate, and is why I started my Italian hot chocolate business Dolce Vite Chocolatto in NYC. She said I was destined for great things, and to follow my real passion, because then I wouldn’t have to work a day in my life," Summers wrote.

The home was built in 1959. It has 1,400 square feet and features a fireplace, a 10,350-square-foot lot, and a finished basement. According to her website, Remax estimates its worth at around $225,600.

The deadline to enter the contest is July 31.
