Mini Sloppy Joe Sliders with Fresh Cabbage

Cook Time: 30 minutes
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Olive Oil
  • Ground turkey or beef
  • Red bell pepper, chopped
  • Garlic cloves
  • Chipotle chili powder
  • Ale or beer
  • bottled chili sauce or ketchup
  • Diced green chilies
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Finely chopped green onions
  • Mini brioche rolls or potato dinner rolls, split, toasted
  • Shredded red or green cabbage

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground meat, bell pepper and garlic and sauté until turkey is no longer pink, breaking up meat with back of fork, about 10 minutes. Mix in chili powder; stir 1 minute.
  3. Add beer, chiles, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until mixture thickens, stirring often, about 15 minutes.
  4. Mix in green onions; season with salt and pepper.
  5. Arrange roll bottoms on plates. Spoon mixture over; top with cabbage and roll tops.
