Artists have been doing very abstract things to create abstract art for a long time. It even took someone as talented and renowned as Jackson Pollock quite a while to gain recognition because his paintings were so far out of the realm of what people thought of as "typical" or "normal" art.
But Pollock's technique of flicking paint at his canvases with paint-filled brushes has nothing on what you're about to see in this next video. At least not when it comes to eccentricity.
YouTuber Katie Sunshine loves hula hoops. She plays with them in her videos pretty often, but one day she decided that she wanted to use her hula hoop to make some art. So she did what any artist would do, right? No, not really.
Instead, Katie set up several easels with painting surfaces outside in the woods (where she could be free to make as much of a mess as she pleased). Then she poked holes all throughout the hula hoop's outer casing. Finally, she fills the hoop with paint and hula hoops to her heart's content.
The result is a Pollock-style painting that has a bright, colorful feel, but also brings along with it the fun of being able to hula hoop while you're making it. Clearly, Sunshine had to make several passes so she could use different color paints and, by the end of her experiment, she's covered from head to toe in paint. She basically looks like a rainbow.
Is this something I would try? Probably not, but it sure is fun watching Katie do it! How about you?
