Sick Wife Won’t Get Kidney For 7 Years, Then Doctor Tells Husband He’s A Perfect Match

In the grand scheme of things, only very few aspects in life matter. My mother always tells me that as long as we have family and our health, everything else comes second.

Over time, I have learned that she is right. It all seems trivial when you realize how important, precious, and fragile life and family really are.

Heather Luchies knows very well the value of both, and she's had many years to ponder on her situation: 19 years ago, she was diagnosed with Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, which has caused her kidneys to deteriorate.

This year, their function plummeted to 20 percent. She needed a new kidney, and soon. But the average wait time for a new organ would have been seven years, and if she were not scheduled to receive one from a perfect match, she would surely be in very ill health.

But this perfect match was more than just a match for a kidney. Her husband, Todd, had gone to doctors to get tested, and found out that he would be able to save her life! The chances of this are about one in 50,000.

After 19 years of marriage, what an incredible and priceless gift from a husband to his wife.

The couple will undergo surgery in the new year.
