Several staff members at a Danish zoo have been targeted with death threats after a healthy giraffe was euthanized. In this CNN report, we hear the Copenhagen Zoo’s explanation for killing the animal and publicly dissecting and feeding its carcass to the zoo’s large cats. People are understandably outraged, but the story is a true matter of ethics. Sure, this scenario would play out in “real life” safari, but at the zoo, where animals are supposed to be protected and cared for, we have to question their motives.
