When it comes to storing ice cream it all seems pretty straight forward, right? As soon get home from the store with that quart or gallon, you toss it in the freezer, right? Wrong.
It turns out that the little plastic seal that you tear away the second you're about to dig in actually does more than just offer you tamper protection. It actually works as a barrier and helps stop freezer burn!
To help fight off the burn, put the ice cream in a Zip Lock freezer bag before putting it in the fridge. It will help keep the ice cream fresh and can even improve it's storage life (as if anyone needed ice cream to stay in the freezer for a longer period of time).
