Artist Creates Surreal Series By Combining Humans And Nature

You might think of only synthetic, artificial works when you think of art created on the computer.

But if all you can imagine coming out of digital art is futuristic and full of machines, you need to see the work of Polish artist Igor Morski.

Morski's background is in graphic design, illustration, and set design, so he's very used to creating things digitally. But like any artist, he was also inspired to create his own works of art, using the tools he knew.

But just because his tools were digital didn't mean his inspiration was. Like so many artists, Morski's inspiration came from nature and its timeless, majestic beauty.

And like the artist who explored the interior landscapes of the human mind through digital art, Morski was able to create dreamlike, surreal, and meticulously detailed digital art celebrating humans' relationship to nature.

His art features human figures and creations imagined as if they were formed out of plants, landscapes, and even other animals. They're at once powerful and delicate, just like nature and us in it.

Check out his art below, and you might start looking at the world outside your door a little differently!

Igor Morski is endlessly inspired by nature to create these surreal digital paintings that explore the connection between humans and the natural world.

His human figures, made of living leaves, branches, and trees, call to mind nature spirits and ancient, mythical beings.

And it's not just trees and branches that inspire him either. This figure is made from flowers and butterflies.

He also explores how human inventions impact nature. This image, which depicts gears and propellers inside a human head, all formed out of greenery, explores the complex relationship between humans, their creations, and the planet.

And while his images are startling in their unexpected combinations, they can also be quite beautiful. This painting, called Gaja, calls to mind Mother Nature and the Greek goddess of the Earth, Gaia.

And of course it's not just humans who are connected to the Earth! Morski likes to include animals in his work, too.

By day, Morski works as a graphic designer, creating advertising art and illustrations. But his passions, which include natural sciences, can be seen in his personal art.

With only a few simple elements, but a lot of detail, Morski tackles complex ideas in a single image. This painting makes us think of our reliance on water, and how many people in the world may not have access to safe water.

But some are more joyful. This one reminds us that the sounds of nature, from bird songs to trickling water, are a kind of magical music all their own.

And this one shows us that while  something like a tree might seem simple to us, it's actually an incredibly complex organism with all kinds of systems running inside it.

Sometimes Morski explores the interior landscape, too, and pretty literally! This painting shows a tree as a brain, full of memory and information.

And while his imagery can be a little unsettling, it also has a quiet, philosophical beauty that reminds us of our deep connection to our planet.
