1. Tiwi Islands

Like many of the places on this list, the Tiwi Islands are bursting with native flora and fauna. But what really makes this location special is the abundance of culture that you can find on the islands. Up to 90 percent of the population is comprised of Aborigines, and you need a special permit and arranged tour with a native guide to even access the islands. The unique experience is bound to make your trip to Tiwi Islands one that you'll never forget.
2. Blue Lake

This lake, which is found in Nelson Lakes National Park in New Zealand, is known for having the clearest water in the world. The Māori consider it sacred, so actually entering the lake is prohibited, but it can still be viewed either from a helicopter or by hiking for up to two days after entering the park. It may seem like a long trip, but on the way, you can see lots of beautiful scenery and wildlife.
3. Jervis Bay

If you're looking for a great vacation spot that has everything you need, this location in New South Wales, Australia is perfect. A popular destination for tourists, the bay offers great food and drinks, but the real draw here is the wildlife. Plenty of animals can be spotted both on land and in the sea, including whales and dolphins. And at night, it's possible to see bright blue bioluminescent plankton lighting up the tide.
4. Kangaroo Island

As its name suggests, this island is the perfect place to see kangaroos. But there's also a ton of other wildlife just waiting to be seen, including penguins, seals, and koalas. It's the perfect place for nature enthusiasts to get their fill of all the incredible animals Australia has to offer.
5. Nugget Point

Located in Otago, New Zealand, this location is known for the iconic lighthouse that was built in the 19th century. Visitors are permitted inside the lighthouse and can see plenty of wildlife, including seals and dolphins.
6. Fraser Island

Located about 125 miles from Brisbane, Australia, this is the largest sand island in the world. There's plenty to do here, including hanging out on the beach, camping, and going on guided fishing tours. There are also a number of shipwrecks you can visit, including the famous SS Maheno, which was used as a hospital ship in WWI. She was being towed to be sold for scrap when a storm broke the tow chain and left her to drift onto the island's shore, where she is now an attraction for visitors.
7. Avaiki Cave

The island of Niue is a remote location that is only accessibly by taking a plane from Auckland, New Zealand. But once you're there, you need to visit Avaiki Cave. It was the first settlement by the Polynesians when they arrived on the island in 900 A.D., and it's perfect for anyone who appreciates the Earth's natural beauty. The water is crystal-clear, which enables you to see virtually all the marine life that exists below it.
8. Lord Howe Island

Those looking for some isolation away from the busyness of everyday life can find peace on Lord Howe Island. At only 5.6 square miles in size, this place is positively tiny, but you don't have to worry about overcrowding — only 400 tourists are permitted on the island at a time. If you want to be one of them, it's worth it. Many of the plants and animals on the tiny land mass can't be found anywhere else in the world, and the environment is fiercely protected by local laws.
9. Wave Rock

Formed millions of years ago in Hyden, Western Australia, this unique formation is a whopping 46 feet high and 360 feet long. But even if you think you'll quickly tire of visiting a rock that looks like a massive wave, there's still plenty to see — Wave Rock is found in Hyden Wildlife Park, so you're bound to see plenty of other interesting things on your visit.
10. Cloud 9

Is there anything better than pizza in the middle of the ocean? You'll have to visit Cloud 9 in Fiji and tell me. This two-story floating pizzeria is perfect for when you just need to get away from land for a while. It offers room for 100 people, plenty of space to lounge, DJs on the weekends, and of course, lots and lots of water to swim and snorkel in while you're waiting for your wood fire pizza to cook. If your bucket list is lacking in restaurants, put this one on it and go as soon as you can.
11. Jellyfish Lake

What can you find in Jellyfish Lake? I'll give you a hint: It starts with "j" and ends with "ellyfish." This incredible spot in Palau was formed 12,000 years ago, when sea levels rose and then dropped, leaving a solitary body of water full of jellyfish. Because the creatures in the lake have such a weak sting, you're only likely to feel it if you get stung around sensitive areas like your mouth or if you're allergic. This means that snorkeling in this this beautiful location is a popular activity among tourists. You do need a pass to access the lake, which can be obtained for $100 and is good for ten days — plenty of time to become one with the jellies.
12. Waitomo Glowworm Caves

Even if you're not a big spelunker, visiting the Waitomo Caves in New Zealand is a must for anyone who wishes life could be just like a fairy tale. Bioluminescent larvae that can only be found in New Zealand and Australia light up the roof and walls, creating a mysterious and enchanting glow that you'll never forget.
