Indiana Police Officer And Wife Adopt Baby Dropped At Safe Haven Box At 1 Day Old

An Indiana police officer and his wife just did a truly amazing thing.

Bruce Faltynski is an officer with the Mishawaka Police Department. But he just went above the call of duty when he and wife Shelby Faltynski adopted their daughter Myah.

The baby was dropped off at a safe haven location in Lake County at just 1 day old. Indiana's Safe Haven Law allows a person to anonymously give up a baby who is younger than 30 days without fear of arrest or prosecution.

Shelby says she's grateful that her daughter's birth mother did what she felt she needed to do for her child. "It just makes me think moms know that they have an option," she told WLKY. "Myah was truly an answer to our prayer and hopefully we were the answer to the prayer of her mommy as well."

"We are so grateful for Myah's birth mom. She made a really courageous decision," she said told WNDU.
