Jenna Dewan Accuses Channing Tatum Of Hiding ‘Magic Mike’ Money And More In Legal Battle

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's divorce is getting messier and messier. The actress recently claimed that her former husband is hiding assets tied to earnings from Magic Mike, but the actor is now fully denying those claims.

In April 2024, Jenna submitted a filing with the court amid their ongoing legal battle over the finances in their divorce proceedings. She accused Channing of working with third parties to shield profits made from the film franchise, which was created while the two were still married.

A representative for Jenna told People that Jenna is hoping for an "honest conclusion" to their ongoing legal battle. However, in new court documents obtained by the outlet, Channing denied his ex's allegations. “I have never denied her share of any community assets or income. Her claims that I have ‘colluded with third parties’ are completely false.”

“She has had complete access to all our financial records for all activities during our marriage and since separation," he added. "I continue to provide her with updates regarding Magic Mike financial matters.”

A representative for Jenna clapped back at Channing's denial in a statement to People. “Is Channing really calling Jenna a ‘liar’ for trying to get back an asset that he effectively stole from her in clear violation of California family law?”

“These latest smears and falsehoods are really just more of the same bullying and gaslighting Jenna has been subjected to for years," the statement continued. "Regardless of whether Channing chooses to do the right thing, Jenna is confident that the law and the facts are on her side and she hopes this will soon come to a proper and honest conclusion.”

The former pair first met on the set of Step Up in 2006 as co-actors in the film. They tied the knot in 2009 and welcomed their daughter Everly in 2013. They announced their separation in 2018 and finalized their divorce in 2019.

In their statement at the time, they wrote, ""Hey world! So… We have something we would like to share. First off, it feels odd that we have to share this kind of thing with everyone, but it's a consequence of the lives we've chosen to lead, which we also happen to be deeply grateful for. We're living in an incredible moment in time, but it's also a time where truth can easily get distorted into 'alternative facts' So we want to share the truth so you know that if you didn't read it here then it's most certainly fiction."

"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now," the statement continued. "There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly. We won't be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family's privacy. Sending lots of love to everyone, Chan&Jenna."

"It’s called leaving the marriage with what you came in with. Why take a man for all he has smdh ‍♀️," one person commented on the situation.

"Money ‍♀️ I feel like if you were equally independent and had jobs and equally gave, then you should equally be able to walk away without owing anyone but your child," another person said. "Those moneys should be incurred in a trust. This whole fighting for money while you have a whole other family is just crazy to me. I’m sure your new man feels loads better knowing you’re still looking to your ex to pay. Let it go Jenna, and move on."
