Jennifer Garner Takes Instagram To Her Mammogram Appointment For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Jennifer Garner is a gem among humans. She's always encouraging us to be healthy and proactive, like a BFF from afar. She just did it again with an adorable PSA on her Instagram page in which she encouraged women to go and get their mammograms, because, yes, it really is that important. Also, it's October, which is breast cancer awareness month, and who better to remind us of the need to check in with our health than our girl Jen?

In the short video Jen shared, she takes us along with her to get checked out. She somehow manages to be adorable while going through the whole mammogram process. Jen lets us see the speedy process of her changing into a hospital gown, actually getting her mammogram, and then waiting patiently for results. The doctor comes in to let Jen know that her mammogram looks perfect, and she gives the camera a big thumbs up. It's an important reminder for women everywhere.

Jennifer Garner totally keeps it real. She is always doing her best to support great causes, and this month she's looking out for our health by doing her best to promote breast cancer awareness month. In the video she shared with her followers, she takes us along with her and lets us see, up close and personal, just what the process of getting a mammogram looks like.

A lot of people have a genuine fear of getting a mammogram, whether it's the actual process of doing it or a fear of developing cancer. Jen's reminder video lets us know that, in most cases, it's a preventative measure, not as hard as we may make it out to be in our heads, and, usually, pretty quick!

Jen cares about lots of important causes, though. She's been an advocate for Save the Children, which her son just hilariously took a jab at when he renamed Jen's spices, calling the sage "Sage the Children." Clearly, he gets his wit from his mother!

Jen also does plenty of good elsewhere. She's big into healthy eating, and given how much she cares about quality food, she took that passion straight to the baby food market, co-founding a baby food company.

The company, Once Upon a Farm, makes quality baby food and smoothies. It's supposed to taste homemade, and it doesn't have any artificial ingredients. Instead, it comes in handy pouches so you don't have to scrape it off your ceiling, as might happen when you attempt to make it yourself.

The secret behind @pizzana (THE Los Angeles destination for real deal Italian pizza ) is my longtime friend @danieleuditi. (Also, hi, @candacenelson ❤️). I could not be happier for Daniele’s success— I could not be more excited to have him here — as my one and only #PretendCookingShow exclusive. ❤️ #watchingmakesmehungry #nowondermyjeansdontfit . @pizzana Margherita Pizza Ingredients: 4 1/2 cups bread flour 2 cups water 1 teaspoon yeast 1 1/2 tablespoons salt, plus dash for sauce 1 can San Marzano whole peeled tomatoes Fior Di Latte cheese (or another dry mozzarella) Parmigiano cheese Olive oil Fresh basil . Directions: 1. Preheat your oven to 500 degrees. 2. Crush your can of tomatoes in a bowl by hand. Add a dash of salt. Mix by hand and set aside. 3. Add yeast to water, mix (Daniele does it with his finger! ). Pour into a bowl with 3 cups of flour. Dig in with your hands. Knead for about 5 minutes— by bringing the bottom of the dough to the top center. Add more flour as necessary as you go. 4. Move dough to a flat working station and let rest for 2-3 minutes. One more quick knead and then give it an hour under a— hot tip— stainless steel bowl. 5. When ready, divide the ball into four. 6. The dough is airy, so you will take your cute ball and push the air to the sides as you flatten into a sphere. You don’t need it very thin. About 10” in diameter. 7. Drizzle oil in a circle following the outline of the crust. Rub in a little bit with your fingers. 8. Spoon on your sauce (don’t be stingy, Daniele uses a lot!) 9. Add basil (again, Daniele uses quite a bit!) 10. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until your crust is starting to brown and bounces back. 11. Remove and add your cheese and another swirl of olive oil! 12. Bake for 2-3 minutes more, just enough for the cheese to melt. 13. Yum.

We love Jen not just for her activism and her PSAs, though. She always keeps it real with us on her social media. The actress routinely lets us see her being silly and flawed and makeup-free, and we can't get enough.

Jen also lets us in on something else she really loves: cooking! She has a hilarious little bit that she does in her kitchen where she pretends she has her own cooking show. Not only is it utterly adorable, she actually gives us some quality recipes, too. Still, the videos are not without hilarious screw-ups, and fans get to witness it all.

Jen's social media is worth following for so many reasons. The laughs are always great, as are the cooking advice and the hilarious tidbits from Jen's family life. Still, the actress always comes to us time and time again with heartfelt messages that really resonate.

Jen is definitely the real deal. She's obviously a talented actress, but she's so much more than that. She lends her kindness to campaigns time and time again and inspires others to give when they can or help out in any small way that can help make the world a better place.

Jen totally makes getting our kitchens dirty seem less intimidating. While she's always making scrumptious snacks, watching her process (and screw-ups) is just as much fun as seeing the end result. Can she actually have a real cooking show, please?

This lady is truly one of a kind. Though she's funny when she wants to be, she definitely knows how to class it up with a cover shoot every now and then. You clean up good, girl!

While Jen often focuses her posts on good causes and wise words, she sometimes posts pictures with some of her best celeb pals, like Camping costar Juliette Lewis, whom Jen has been friends with for years. The pair can't stand one another on-screen, but in real life, they're pretty tight.
