Being made fun of or bullied is something everyone goes through at some point in their life, but we all experience it in different ways.
For example, comedian Damienne Merlina was humiliated on national television by a comic who called her fat and mocked her disability. She was able to bounce back by making a moving response video.
When she was 20 years old, Jillian Jensen brought the entire live audience of The X Factor to tears when she decided to speak out against the bullies who had made her life rough for so many years. Well, maybe she didn't "speak out," but she certainly sang out.
It all happened in middle school when Jillian, believing she was doing the right thing, told on another student who confessed to doing drugs. For the next few years of her life, the other students were cruel to Jillian. They refused to be her friend and called her a "snitch." They especially mocked her love of music.
When Jillian took stage at The X Factor, she decided to dedicate her entire performance to everyone who had ever been bullied. You can see it's difficult for her to sing through the emotions, but she finds her inner strength and finishes in such an amazing way that one judge is so overcome with emotion, she does something that's never happened on the show before.
