When Their Grooms Left Them At The Altar, These Jilted Brides Got The Last Laugh

There's an old stereotype of the jilted bride who's left at the altar, that the only option thereafter is to become bitter, or worse, vengeful. However, that's not the case for the three jilted brides Good Morning America followed. One story centers around Nicole Contos-Liakeas. On the day of her wedding, her fiancé told her his feet felt like jelly. She dismissed his reservations and continued with the ceremony.

While she waited outside the church inside of her car, the best man approached Nicole and told her that the groom had fled to London. The footage is shocking as you see Nicole receive the news, and watch her brother tell the guests that the wedding is off. Nicole picked herself up that night and continued with the reception.

"It was very shocking. I felt like someone really just kind of punched me," Nicole told GMA. But Nicole, like Kilee Manulak, the jilted bride who painted her wedding dressdecided not to let one man's choice define her. She changed into her party dress and had a ball with the guests.

Eventually, 11 years later, she married a new man who was really the one this time. "God had something better waiting for me, at the end, I found my prince," she says.

See how Nicole and two other jilted brides, Kimberly and Marilyn, took their lives back after their grooms left them waiting.
