TV host Jimmy Kimmel has responded to a comment that NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers made on a podcast that implied that his name would be included on a list of people associated with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. On the The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Rodgers said, "There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are really hoping that doesn’t come out."
Kimmel called the comment "reckless" and threatened legal action. Rodgers was referring to the release of court documents containing the names of people associated with Epstein, who died in 2019. The documents reportedly name about 170 people.
“I'll tell you what, if that list comes out, I’ll definitely be popping some sort of bottle,” Rodgers said during the podcast.
Responding to the video on X, Kimmel denied the allegations that Rodgers seemed to make. "Dear A–hole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any 'list' other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality," Kimmel wrote on X.
"Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court," Kimmel continued, tagging Rodgers at the end of the post.
After Rodgers made the comment, Pat McAfee pointed out that Rodgers is clearly not over the jokes that Kimmel previously made about him.

"A clip from this particular program was run on Jimmy Kimmel's show. Whenever Aaron brought up the list, then Jimmy mocked him for it," he explained. "Aaron has not forgotten about that."
After showing the segment from the podcast on his show at that time, Kimmel said, "It might be time to revisit that concussion protocol, Aaron."
