Joe Joe the capybara is not your average street rat. In fact, this Las Vegas-based capybara is somewhat of a celebrity in her own rite. This little animal creates quite the buzz on social media, with her own YouTube page, Facebook page, Twitter account and an Instagram, where she has a mind-blowing over 61,600 followers at the time of publishing!
Just like their close relative the guinea pig, capybaras come from South America and, as you can see in this video of one who befriended a tiny squirrel monkey at a Japanese zoo, they are surprisingly very social creatures! However, Joe Joe might just be the most popular capybara on the planet. He is constantly posting photos with new friends of all different species, just like these teeny ducks who recently had some fun with him in a bathtub.
In this next video, we see just how lucky Joe Joe really is. Besides being so well-loved by his big family, Joe Joe is treated just like any other pet. As you can see, Joe Joe snuggles up to her owner on the couch, but as soon as she inches closer, it's clear what she really wants…a nice rub down!
