John Wayne Stood Up For America. Half A Century Later, His Words Have New Meaning!

Originally written by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and finally adopted by our Congress in 1945, this beautiful pledge has been uttered by children all across our country for generations now. Unfortunately, there are a lot of kids out there today that don't even understand what they're saying when they recite the words to the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Pledge, these days, is just something they have to do every day before school — meaningless sounds that string together worthless ideals. As more and more people tout the "offensive nature of God," or the evil sentiment behind the Republic, it's no wonder that children these days are confused at the meaning behind this pledge and its true meaning.

Just like Red Skelton's famous speech, John Wayne, "The Duke" has a few words of wisdom to bestow upon anyone who might be a bit confused as to what the Pledge of Allegiance is really about! Our favorite cowboy goes through the whole Pledge and lets us know what the words mean to him in this famous vintage recording.

"Thank you, America, for your strength, your courage, and your freedom." He says, "which has been a beacon to the world for 200 years."

Way to go, pilgrim!
