Army veteran Joe Serna is one of the countless veterans who suffer from PTSD. After experiencing the horrors of war, he struggled in his effort to readjust to life as a civilian.
After being charged with a DUI years back, Serna was caught lying about a recent urine test. Wanting to hold him accountable for his actions, Judge Lou Olivera sentenced Serna to one night in jail.
To many, one night may seem doable — but Serna knew it would be the longest night of his life.
The enclosed space of the jail cell instantly reminded Serna of a horrific event that took place while he served in Afghanistan. As he sat there locked in the tiny room, he began to feel the anxiety rising up.
But before his emotions spiraled out of control, the prison's security cameras caught Judge Olivera doing something unbelievable.
