Why can't all world problems be solved with a quick juggling battle?
Just when you thought you'd seen it all, the European Juggling Convention came along and changed what you knew about juggling forever. In this sport, known as combat juggling, two people with unbelievable hand-eye coordination go head-to-head with three juggling pins apiece. The object of the competition is to keep all of your pins in rotation while trying to get your opponent to lose theirs. If you can get your opponent to drop one of their pins first, you get a point, and the first one to seven points wins!
In the final round of the 2014 Convention, Iver and Jochen face off in what has to be the most heart-pounding juggling session I've ever seen. The last time I was this impressed with a juggler's talent was when I saw what this soccer player could do with just a ball and his own two feet. But these guys take the skill to a whole new level. I swear my heart stopped at least five times while watching them battle!
I really wish this sport were more popular. It's so fun to watch, and I bet it's even more fun to do. I'll be the first to admit that I never thought I'd use the word "intense" to describe juggling, but these two talented guys have proven me dead wrong. I can't wait to see who wins this year's championship round!
