Savannah Chrisley has been open about her parents' time in prison since the former reality TV pair were found guilty of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and tax fraud in June 2022.
In a recent episode of the Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley Podcast, titled "Julie Chrisley's Letters From Prison (Part 1)," the 26-year-old shared a letter from her mom detailing how painful it is for her to be away from her husband, Todd Chrisley, who is serving a now-reduced 10 years in Florida while she serves a now-reduced five years in Kentucky.
"I miss Todd so much that it hurts," the letter read. "I've never gone this long without talking to him. So many people know us here, so they're always talking about him, which I love but it still makes me sad too."
"I knew my life was about to change forever," Julie wrote to Savannah of the moment she and Todd had to part ways. "My husband and I stood in our bedroom right in front of our prayer bench and said our goodbyes. We hugged, we kissed and we prayed before he walked out the door heading to Pensacola, Florida."

"This would be the last time I would speak to my husband face to face," she continued. "We talked on the phone during his ride to Pensacola, I called one last time before I self-surrendered to the camp in Lexington."
Julie then went on to reflect on her ride to prison, in which she was accompanied by her 27-year-old son Chase and a good friend of hers. "I could not wrap my head around the fact that I was going to be separated from my husband and children for what seems like a lifetime," she wrote, referring also to her 17-year-old son Grayson, who Savannah now has custody of.
"We turned onto the road that the prison is located, passing white vans with paparazzi in them. My family said their goodbyes and I walked into prison with nothing but the clothes on my back," she wrote.
"I can just feel her hurt through these messages," Savannah said of her mom's letters. "Sure, there's some funny things in here, mom's trying to make jokes, trying to make light of it, but like this is her life now. And it's so different than obviously what it was before, in just the emotional aspect of it of having to miss your family so much."
People flooded the comments with their reactions to Julie's letter.
"This made me cry," one person commented. "I pray Julie and Todd get out soon. I’m sure they are so proud of you Savannah."
"You are doing such courageous things Savannah," another person wrote. "Due to your relentless ability to never give up will be the reason your parents get out early. You should be very proud of yourself. As hard as this is, please keep doing what you are doing. You are a role model."
Savannah intends to continue to share her mom's writings with the public.
"So blessed I get to share these hand-written letters from my mom with y'all!" she wrote in a comment. "Please like, share and subscribe because more episodes of us reading from Julie's daily journal are coming out next week!"
