Massive Kangaroo Takes Up Residence In An Australian Suburb

As far as marsupials go, koalas probably take the cake for cutest of the bunch. But kangaroos don’t lag too far behind — that is, from afar…

Despite looking like some sort of oversized dog-rabbit hybrid, kangaroos are no docile bunch. Native to Australia and Tasmania, these powerful animals stand as high as 6 feet tall and leap as many as 25 feet in one bound. And they’re known to be territorial and will “box” to defend themselves. You needn’t be an animal expert to take a look at a grown wild kangaroo and decide you’re best admiring him from a distance, particularly when he’s built like the one in the video below.

A large, ripped adult male has been terrorizing Brisbane, Australia for a number of weeks now. Though no actual incident has been reported, the mere presence of the big fella is daunting at best. “He’s got massive, massive muscles — big pecs and everything,” says local resident Linda Hellyer. “He’s very intimidating. He’s a big boy.” A big boy, indeed. The intruder is thought to weigh more than 200 lbs, and makes regular appearances at a local golf course, playgrounds, and even residences, reports ODN. They add that he hops away when approached, but I for one wouldn’t be headed anywhere near this big guy.
