Kate Middleton Was Spotted Wearing Same Pearl Necklace The Queen Previously Passed Down To Diana

If there's anything that can be said about the royal family's style, it's that it's always supremely elegant.

Even on their most casual days, the royals always look put together and classy.

Of course, that's part of the job: to display wealth and excellence every time they step into the public eye.

That said, the royals are also known for sharing pieces from their closets. Just recently, Prince Harry's girlfriend, Meghan Markle, was spotted wearing an iconic lace dress from Kate's wardrobe.

And there's one type of item they share more than anything else: jewelry.

From tiaras to earrings, the women of the royal family are always passing jeweled items down from generation to generation.

For example, Kate Middleton's engagement ring actually used to belong to Prince Charles' mother, Princess Diana.

Now, there's another piece of royal jewelry being passed around. The Queen's four-strand pearl necklace, which was previously worn by Princess Di, was recently spotted around Kate Middleton's neck!

On November 20, 2017, photographers snapped a picture of Kate Middleton in a car with her hubby, Prince William, and brother-in-law, Prince Harry.

The necklace Kate was wearing turned heads, and not just because it's beautiful. People immediately realized the pearl choker as one that had been worn by other royals in the past!

Princess Diana wore the necklace at a state banquet in The Netherlands in 1982, and it looked absolutely flawless with her white dress.

But even Princess Di wasn't the first to wear the necklace. Nope, it actually came from Queen Elizabeth II's collection!

The Queen wore the pearl and diamond choker throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

It was actually given to her by the Japanese government, made from a collection of cultured pearls.

Every time this necklace has been worn throughout the years, it's made a statement.

It's just such a timeless piece of jewelry.

During normal, daily life, the royals don't wear much jewelry.

They tend to wear subtle pieces, like smaller pearl strands and simple earrings.

For formal events, however, they pull out all the stops and wear stunning, sparkling jewels.

Just look at what Kate wore during the Portrait Gala in 2014!

The choker that's been passed down through the generations seems to have been a popular style, especially for Diana.

She wore a very similar necklace in 1985.

As the Queen has gotten older, she's opted for smaller jewelry, like the pearls she's wearing in this photo.

Do you like the more subtle jewelry the royals wear or are you a sucker for the huge sparkly accessories?
