Two Long-Lost Sisters Finally Reunite With The Help Of Facebook

Katie Doak spent years trying to find her biological mother and half-sister. Since she didn't have much luck, she turned to a popular source: Facebook.

The Phoenix, AZ resident made a sign with her information along with the names of her long-long family members. She shared it on the site hoping that the power of social media would connect her to the mother who gave her up when she was 18 months old.

To Doak's advantage, a local news outlet came across her picture, interviewed her, and also shared the story on its Facebook page.

We've seen how powerful social media can be countless times before, including the precious moment a stranger found a 5-year-old's note 300 miles away and contacted him on Facebook to let him know. It also worked in Doak's favor.

Like the two World War II siblings who reunited 75 years after being separated, Doak finally found her mother and half-sister. But, what she came across after she found them was even more spectacular.

Arizona news station 12 News saw Katie's photo and interviewed her. After the publication shared the story, it didn't take long before someone messaged Katie with her half-sister's contact information. Like most of us would, Katie scrolled through her half-sister's Facebook page. She was shocked with what she found.

Her half-sister, Kelsey Wilson, was also looking for her using the same method.

Her sign reads: "Hi, my name is Kelsey. I'm looking for my sister! Her name is Katherine Rebecca Wilson. As far as we know, she lives in Arizona. Her birth mothers name is Cynthia Wilson. Please 'share' this and help me find her!"

The long-lost sisters finally got in touch and spoke for hours. How incredible?!
