It's always wonderful to see celebrities show their human sides and use their fame to inspire others.
For famous country singer Kellie Pickler, a woman named Summer Holt is more than her friend — she is her soul mate. Pickler describes the day she learned Summer had breast cancer as one of the hardest days of her life.
Summer decided to shave her head before having to one day wake up and find strands of it on her pillow. Pickler was right there with her, every step of the way. "I told her when we were at the hospital that when her hair fell out, that I was gonna shave my head with her," Pickler says.
In the video below, Pickler and Holt get their heads shaved in an act of solidarity, side-by-side while holding hands. Pickler isn't concerned about how her lack of hair will look in the magazines; she simply wants to be there for her friend.
Afterward, they look at each other and cry, knowing there is no more beautiful way to show such love and support. "I'm just so thankful to have you in my life," Holt tells Pickler. It's like you can feel the love through the screen.
Summer is reportedly doing great, and she and Pickler plan on taking a cancer-free vacation.
