This touching song by musician Kelly Ray Burkham will have you in tears before you even realize it. The premise of his beautifully honest song "Telephone In Heaven" is essentially exactly what the title implies; Burkham simply wishes that there was a telephone, or some special way, to directly communicate with the loved ones we have loved and lost over the years.
Burkham specifically calls out his dearly departed father and grandmother and expresses how he wishes he could speak to them just for a minute. "I'd tell him that I love him and miss him. I'm sorry for the times we never had. I wonder if they charge me by the minute, I wonder if they charge me by the mile. I'd call up that old angel operator, 'can I please talk to my Daddy for a while?" He sings.
While Burkham begins the song expressing his sadness over the loss of his loved ones, he ends his beautiful performance by thanking someone who is just as important. Of all the phone calls to heaven that Burkham plans on making, his final call is to someone that when He answers, it will certainly bring chills up and down your spine. What a beautiful moment that would be! Can you imagine having a direct connection to Him?
