President Obama has recently became the first sitting president in the history of the United States to visit the country of Kenya. While he was on his tour, he gave a speech that surprised many of the more conservative members of Kenyan society when he told them that they should lift the ban on homosexuality.
While that statement certainly ruffled the feathers of many of Kenya's anti-gay members of government, Obama managed to cool things down when the music started playing. We all know that President Obama is an amazing singer, but did you know that he can dance, too?
At Nairobi's State House, Obama joined with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta in performing the Lipala, a traditional African dance that has recently been seeing new life amongst Kenyans old and young alike. It's a shame Michelle wasn't there with him so they could bust a move together!
In this show of solidarity, our president wanted to show how close we can be when we toss aside our differences and join together in friendship. Two presidents dancing next to each other, surrounded by the elite members of Kenyan society, all while on a most historic visit; this short video has a lot more meaning behind it than just a simple dance video!
