Kevin Skinner Stuns Piers Morgan In This Classic AGT Clip

It can be really scary to make yourself vulnerable in front of huge crowds, especially when you’re from humble means and lack formal training.

You can only imagine how Kevin Skinner felt back in 2010 when he walked on the American’s Got Talent stage to have judge Sharon Osbourne and the entire audience laugh at his southern accent and ‘hillbilly’ persona, neither which were part of his act.

The self proclaimed former “chicken catcher” has had no formal musical training. He taught himself how to play guitar and sing by listening to country superstars like Garth Brooks.

To save him from the merciless teasing of the other celeb judges, Piers Morgan urged Kevin to start his act.

Within seconds, the audience was left speechless by Skinner’s emotional cover of the sweet, sad love song “If Tomorrow Never Comes” by Garth Brooks. The judges went from treating him like a joke to proclaiming that he was, in fact, the “real deal.”

Skinner went on to win the fourth season of America’s Got Talent, a dream come true for the unemployed and humble farmer. For more tear-inducing performances, watch Anna Clendening’s beautiful performance in the face of depression and anxiety.

If Kevin Skinner’s story doesn’t describe the “American Dream” come true, I don’t know what does.
