These Amazing Kinetic Sculptures Come To Life When The Wind Blows

"I want them to be like nothing else you've seen before." Anthony Howe is a kinetic wind sculpture based in Orcas Island, Washington. His beautiful and unusual structures — giant contraptions that resemble aliens, jellyfish and bursting suns — are completely powered by the wind.

"What I'm trying to do with the work is cause people to stop whatever thought process they have in their head and just for a moment experience a different kind of reality." He has certainly achieved his mission; leagues of fans find a meditative quality in these metal and polymer sculptures, leaving viewers transfixed on their peaceful and seamless movements.

According to The Creator's Project, his pieces go from 3D models that he designs on his desktop to CAD designs made through Rhinoceros 3D. These designs are then laser cut using a plasma cutter before he meticulously crafts the structures using traditional metal work processes. Incredibly, Anthony and his wife run their artistic business all by themselves, without agents, consultants or even galleries. Instead, Anthony's work has become widely known and celebrated via social media. His pieces sell for anywhere between $45,000-$400,000 and require countless hours and manpower to construct.
