Kitten Trapped In Shrink Wrap For 7 Days Without Food Or Water Found In Back Of Delivery Truck

The staff of Park Avenue Animal Hospital in Memphis, TN, witnessed a miracle after a tiny kitten was dropped off at their doorstep.

The little orange and white kitten, whom the shelter named Joey, was found in the back of a delivery truck, though he wasn’t taking a joyride.

The nearly 7-week-old cat had managed to survive a treacherous cross-country journey lasting a week. The truck covered nearly 500 miles before the driver heard a faint meowing coming from the back of his delivery truck.

He flung open the door and jumped inside to look for the source. That's when he discovered the cat shrink-wrapped to the top of a large package stacked inside.

He immediately sliced through the clear plastic, releasing Joey from his stifling prison. The truck driver then found the nearest animal hospital and had the cat examined.

Despite the rough conditions and going almost a week without access to food or water, Joey somehow was in perfect health.

His rescuers speculate that he made his way into the truck at a packing factory in Chicago.

He is being taken care of at the animal hospital and is currently up for adoption, though the hospital staff has made it clear that they conduct a difficult process before parting with their animals.
