Like a lot of kids her age, 15-year-old Te'shauria Akinleye is a huge fan of the social media platform TikTok. While creators use the platform to produce a variety of content, plenty of people love sharing videos of themselves performing TikTok dances, and Te'shauria is no different.
However, the Knoxville, Tennessee, teen recently landed herself in hot water after sharing a particular dance video.
Te'shauria received unpleasant news after she shared her dance video to TikTok: Her school, Hardin Valley Academy, had decided to kick her off its cheer team. Te'shauria explained to Memphis' WREG that she didn't realize sharing the video would be a problem.
"I know the video wasn’t very appropriate for the cheer team," she explained, "but I wasn’t in uniform or anything."
Her mother, Toksy Akinleye, explained that the dance had even been modified to be more conservative, but the school didn't approve.
You can find out what Toksy and Te'shauria really think is going on in the video!
