This is actually a fun mental exercise. Take 15 seconds and really consider this question: Could you date a Kardashian?
Obviously, your first reaction should probably be, "Heck yes!" The money, stardom, overnight celebrity, and VIP access to literally the entire world would be yours. fans self
But what happens the first time the tabloids rip you apart because you got caught by a paparazzi momentarily not looking fabulous? How about when you're sitting courtside at a Lakers game and glance at another cute guy/girl, and the entire world is tweeting nonstop about how you're not right for each other?
Keeping up with the Kardashians is not as easy as it sounds (pun absolutely intended), and as such, all of the significant others who have come and gone over the years have been dubbed victims of the "Kardashian curse" (why they didn't spell it "kurse" is beyond us). The men who've dated these wildly successful women seem to constantly fall by the wayside, and the ones who do stay struggle mightily. As such, many are saying that Kourtney, Kim, Kylie, and the rest must have some sort of voodoo magic on them.
But is that really the case? Kylie has her own theory, and honestly, we're here for it:
Let's start with a brief recap of their fabulous dating lives.
Because while Kylie is about to shut down the haters, it's important to keep in mind why people believe there might be a curse.
Anyone remember Kim's two-month marriage to Kris Humphries? And technically we can add Kanye's breakdown on tour to the list of casualties of the curse.
Khloé and Lamar Odom's story is the stuff of legend now, and while she and Tristan Thompson are still together at the moment, that's not exactly been a fairy tale either.
Kourtney, here pictured with her oldest son Mason, has three kids with Scott Disick. Despite their long relationship, those two haven't been together in ages.
And because we have to be fair…
Kylie's relationships over the years haven't been particularly idealistic, either — she flamed out with Tyga in the spring of 2017.
But when the curse came up in a recent interview, the reporter laid up a very acceptable explanation: "People say you and your sisters destroy the men in your lives. But my theory is, maybe it's just extremely difficult to fly this close to the sun. You were built for this level of celebrity – Travis and the other men weren't."
Kylie quickly agreed with the diagnosis.
"That's exactly what it is," responded Kylie. "They come and can't handle it."
Kylie elaborated, "For all the news stories… I get over them so fast. [Current boyfriend and baby daddy Travis Scott], for example, he's like: 'Wait, but how do you just get over this?' He gets more angry about things."
She continued, "It's not just him. It's Jordyn [her best friend] who I've seen affected. It's everyone around us that aren't used to it. I know these stories aren't going to matter, so don't even let them affect you, you know?"
"I think you're correct," she concluded to the reporter, "but it's not just men — it's friends, it's people who come and just don't know how to handle it. It's the negative. There's a lot of people who love us, but there's also a huge handful of people who don't like us."
Curse or no, the Instagram comments reveal that everyone's cheering for Travis to break the curse.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact these two already share baby Stormi Webster?
Whatever the motivation, people are fawning over Trav and Kylie.
But will the rapper really be the one to last?
It doesn't look like this photo shoot the couple just did, their first together as a couple, is receiving the bad press Kylie was talking about!
And as many are pointing out, there's no sign that these two are trending the wrong direction.
Fingers crossed that Travis can prove all the konspiracy theorists wrong!
