42-Second Film Shows Man’s Entire Life Flash By

Time is a funny thing sometimes, for whatever reason life seems to speed by at a snail's pace. For many of us we sit at our jobs, willing our lives away in five-day increments, living from weekend to weekend or from paycheck to paycheck.

Life is short, and while keeping that knowledge in the back of our minds at all times is important, very rarely are we ever given the opportunity to experience that breathtaking fact in such vivid detail — until now.

Watching the short film Last Day Dream, by filmmaker Chris Milk, in just 42 seconds you can live through one man's entire life. Featuring many important "flashbulb memories," this film takes you from one person's birth until their very last moment on Earth.

This chilling film has some incredible highlights, from that one time he dropped a baseball at "the big game," to his graduation day, wedding day, and death. The video began with his parents happily greeting him into the world, and it ended with his children showing him the way out; this "full circle" experience is utterly awe-inspiring in how short it makes life seem.

Along with the hilarious cameo appearance by Pauly Shore of all people, this video really captures the fleeting essence of life and the idea that this beautiful world is nothing more than a mandala that we must all wipe clean by the end.

But above all else it shows us how we need to stop wishing our lives away and try to experience every single moment as if it was the most important in our lives.

Please SHARE this powerful short film if you think life is beautiful!
