A missing Indiana woman was found safe after her mother begged police for help.
Cheryl Walker traveled from Indiana to San Diego, where her 20-year-old daughter, Lateche Norris, was last believed to be before going missing. Norris had traveled to San Diego with 25-year-old boyfriend Joseph Smith in early November 2021.
The last time Walker heard from her daughter was when she got a call from her from a stranger's cellphone after Norris had argued with Smith on November 4. The family hasn't been able to reach Smith or Norris since.
"She is at risk," Walker told Inside Edition at the time. "We definitely believe her to be in danger."
Not only had no one heard from Lateche Norris, but the 20-year-old's social media accounts had been inactive since November 4, the day of the phone call.
"My daughter would never go this long without contacting us," Walker explained. "She would never not call back."
The San Diego Police Department identified Norris as at "high risk" because of how long it had been since anyone had heard from her. Her family was terrified, worrying they might have another Gabby Petito situation in the making.
Luckily, the case of the missing woman ended with everyone breathing a huge sigh of relief. Police say Lateche Norris was found safe. Watch the video to find out what happened.
