Lion Rescued From The Sea After He Wandered Off From A Nearby National Park

Have you ever seen a lion up close? Chances are probably not. If you travel to the zoo, there are enclosures to keep us from having face-to-face interactions with the animals, for both their safety and ours.

Most likely, you've seen a lion behind the glass at a zoo, like this curious lion that wanted to play with a tiny human. Or you could be like this family, who happened to come home to find a mountain lion waiting on their doorstep. Personally, I'll stick to watching documentaries on lions!

In Gujarat, India, a lion recently snuck out of his local national park and wandered a bit too far. The poor guy was confused, as expected when making your way into the real world. He made it to the Arabian Sea before being spotted by local fishermen. The lion swiftly jumped into the water, probably looking to cool off, and avoid the hustle and bustle of the city.

Thankfully, before he was able to swim out too far and get hurt, a rescue team was able to lift him from the water and tranquilize him. He was transported to an animal care center, where he will be taken care of until he's healthy enough to return to the wild.

You can see this rare moment of a lion swimming out to see in the video below! What would you do if you spotted a lion nearby you?
