Watch This Video, And You’ll NEVER Text And Drive Again

Put down your cell phone because if you're texting, you're not driving. That's the heartbreaking warning high schooler Liz Marks has for those that text while driving. In a video posted to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s YouTube page, Marks explains her story and how quickly accidents can happen.

Liz, an aspiring model, was a typical high school student when she crashed her car while reading a text while driving. She almost died. That life-changing car crash left her blind in one eye, unable to smell, and she cannot go to sleep on her own without taking medication. Today, she is helping spread an important safety message: never text and drive.

The video's description, written from the perspective of Marks’ mother, reads: "This is the story of how my daughter Liz's car accident from texting while driving has changed our lives forever. If you get a text, don't look at it while you’re driving. It’s not worth it."
