YouTube Star Brilliantly Slams Weight Critics In New Video

A beauty and plus-size fashion blogger named Loey Lane stood up to critics who say heavier women shouldn't wear bikinis — and it's brilliant.

“In a lot of my videos I have been wearing the swimsuits," the YouTube star says. "Through my trial and error on YouTube, I’ve learned that apparently fat girls in bikinis get a lot of mixed reviews."

We've read Loey's powerful response to weight critics before, but this video below is her attempt to explain why women of all sizes should proudly sport two-piece swimsuits.

In the video, Loey lists the various things she's heard from critics who argue that heavier women shouldn't wear bikinis. Some of them say curvier women aren't appealing in bikinis while others say they promote obesity.

"I have to say when I'm sitting there on the beach in a bikini, I'm not usually shoving my face full of junk food or screaming at the top of my lungs how everyone should be overweight," she joked. "I'm usually sitting there minding my own business."

At the 2:30 mark, she also demonstrates the hurtful and rude remarks she hears from strangers. That's a struggle that affects many women everywhere, including celebrities like Kelly Clarkson.

"When someone who is larger is in a swimsuit that's not like a one-piece… I get told a lot that we are asking for feedback," she says. "Any human being, they are not looking for your approval, or your praise!"
