At 2-years-old, Lyndsey McLaughlin was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening disease. Fast forward more than 20 years and Lyndsey had everything going for her in life — except time.
She needed a lung transplant to save her life and finding a match seemed impossible. The young woman was running out of time when she received the phone call that would save her life, after seven months of waiting on a donor list. All she knew was she was receiving a new set of lungs from an 18-year-old old male. The surgery went successful, but she was left wondering – who died to save her life? She said she couldn't go on without finding out who the man was, so she requested to meet the family — a rare occurrence — and the family wanted to meet her, too.
This story is sure to brighten your day! I'm so happy the two families were able to meet and Lyndsey can know the man who saved her life and honor him by living it to the fullest.
