A California family’s world was flipped upside down after Iranian-born mom, wife and “proud” MAGA supporter Arpineh Masihi, was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on June 30, 2025. Security camera footage shows the mom going back inside the house to say goodbye to her four children, then being taken away by ICE agents. Despite that, her husband Arthur Sahakyan is not wavering in his support of President Donald Trump.
“Trump is not trying to do anything bad,” Sahakyan told local Fox 11 news. “He wants the best for the country”
The Sahakyan home, still waving Trump supporting flags, was visited by ICE agents when the US became more involved with Israel’s war against Iran, when it bombed three of the country’s nuclear sites a week prior. Masihi was detained along with more than 130 other Iranian nationals.
Her husband explained to the outlet that she was likely targeted after her green card was revoked due to a prior conviction for theft. She had been complying with with immigration check-ins and was dedicated to regaining her legal status.
“I’m very for [the US vetting] Iranian nationals because of the sleeper cells,” Sahakyan also told Fox 11. “I think it will resolve a lot of issues because we’ll know exactly who’s in here for what reasons, even though I miss [my wife] dearly.”
He reiterated that he has “trust” in Trump’s end goal, but still wouldn’t wish this circumstance on anyone. “I’m still supporting,” he admitted. “Even though my friends say, ‘Take the flag down, you’re going through a lot,’ I’m like, ‘No, the flag stands.'”
