He Takes Their Picture For Them But They Did NOT Expect THAT To Happen. Wow!

Before "selfie sticks" became all the rage, tourists used to ask other human beings to take their picture in front of iconic landmarks around the world. You would politely ask someone if they would mind taking your picture, hand them your camera, and smile while they snapped away. The act even became a major plot point of the classic 1985 comedy National Lampoon's European Vacation.

Nowadays, however, most people are content to stretch out their arms, use the front-facing camera on their phones, or even opt for one of those silly sticks. Still, some people do like to use the age-old method of asking another friendly person to snap their photo, which is great for us, because it means pranks like the one in the below video can still be pulled off!

In the video, uploaded by popular YouTube channel MediocreFilms, the crew decides to set up a great prank on the tourists milling around the front of Hollywood's iconic TCL Chinese Theater.

As people start taking photos in front of the landmark, the host offers to take their picture for them. How nice, right? What a gentleman!

Little do they know, however, that the host is actually going to be in the photo as well! By using a large cardboard cutout of himself, the host is able to have his assistant swoop in with the prop just before he snaps the photo, which leaves him actually in all the pictures that he's taking for these unwitting tourists.

When he shows them the picture, they all think he performed some amazing magic trick that allowed him to run from behind the camera and into the picture before snapping it. Ha!

"How is that even possible?" one woman asks as the host laughs.

Before long, he lets them in on his secret as his assistant pops out with the large cardboard cutout, but it sure was fun while it lasted. It's a clever prank that works perfectly for this short video and should give you a good laugh to start your day.
