She Drills Holes And Glues Magnets To Wood. Why? Genius!

The inter-webs has taught us that you can make some pretty incredible things out of wood. You can create a glow-in-the-dark table with the help of a little goo, and even gorgeous vases with a handful of colored pencils. Not to mention tons of tiny houses — some that even look like a log! Making something out of wood that looks like wood? The only way you could get any woodsier than that is if you built that wooden log home in the woods for Woody Woodpecker and his woodchuck girlfriend, Maple Rosewood. Woodn’t that be wooderful?

Say that five times fast!

Reddit user Raph304 is also a fan of a good wood project. Raph304 saw a slab of wood, magnets, and a bunch of knives and got inspired, constructing a cool kitchen organizer that I would be proud to hang in my own home. In fact, this project looks so easy and fun — and the end result so efficient and eye-popping — that I’m going to try this out myself this weekend.

And to think, this eventual stroke of GENIUS started out with a mere piece of wood…

Here is the slab of wood. Looks like your average, everyday main course at a termite buffet. But one Reddit user saw if differently…

Like the Log Lady from Twin Peaks Raph304 saw the future! This piece of wood was to become much more than just a mere craft. So, holes were drilled…

Then magnets were added. The wood was coming closer and closer to its destiny as a piece of artful ingenuity.

The wood was then flipped over and sanded.

The soon-to-be organizational masterpiece was then glazed with finishing oil, giving it a richer hue.

It was mounted on the wall — where great art should be hung — and knives were added.

Finally, the wood had found its true meaning: Being a gorgeous knife rack. Lucky wood.
