Mom Says She’s Addicted To Tanning Beds, Records Video To Show What They Did To Her Skin

Mags Murphy, a 45-year-old mother from Dublin, Ireland, recently started sharing a series of graphic photos and videos of her treatment for precancerous cells.

Mags is a self-confessed tanning addict who used tanning beds to maintain her tan. She was devastated when doctors found precancerous cells on her forehead.

Now she has to use a special cream to burn away the cells over the course of a month. Mags has been documenting every day of her journey on Facebook, hoping to make others aware of the dangers of tanning.

She says that she always ignored the warnings she heard, but wants to make sure people know about the severe consequences of sun exposure. "Don't think you're immune to this no matter what colour your skin is, factor up," she told LittleThings.

Now that she is going through treatment, Mags doesn't want others to have to suffer like she is.

"I heard all the warnings years ago and closed my eyes and ears to it all maybe someone will open their eyes to this if it's closer to home," she explained on her Facebook page. "I'm not looking for sympathy just to raise awareness."

Mags says the first few days of treatment felt like a "mild sunburn," but then it started feeling more like "someone's put a cigarette out on me." By day 15, she wrote, "My face burns so much I've felt like throwing up at times today."

So far, people have been very supportive of Mags, writing things like "fair play for making people aware, wishing you every success," and "Omg this is frightening and I truly admire your strength for showing this. Well done and best of luck with the treatment."

It can't be easy for Mags to show pictures of her horrible treatment, so we commend her for her bravery. If you think she's sharing an important message, please SHARE this article on your Facebook!
