ABC News Discovers Their Maintenance Man Is A Breathtaking Opera Singer

Keanon Kyles is a janitor at ABC's Chicago station WLS-TV. Kyles works about 90 hours a week. Not only is he a custodian, but he works in retail, and freelances as a vocal coach.

None of his co-workers had any clue what the upbeat 28-year-old was up to until they heard his incredible voice. Kyles is a stunning opera singer. He doesn't mind working three jobs if it means he can do his passion on the side. However, things are looking up. The singer was the only American to nab a spot in a Scottish opera in the United Kingdom.

"I am the only American chosen for the opera," Kyles told ABC. "Everyone else is from overseas, so I go there feeling as if I'm representing a nation."

Born and raised on Chicago's South Side, many of his peers didn't understand why he wanted to pursue opera. But Kyles has been singing since he was just 8 years old and hasn't wavered since.

"I definitely got a bit of flak for being an opera singer. You can imagine how those jokes went," he said. "I'm really hoping it not only benefits me, but encourages, inspires, and motivates individuals who feel like giving up to keep pushing."

Just one look at Kyles' work ethic and positive attitude, it's clear he is going to go far.
