Sometimes, unexpected friendships turn out to be the most special ones.
We've all seen animals that couldn't be more different form a special bond that breaks all mental stereotypes of who should get along with whom, like this cat, dog, and rat relationship that we just can't get enough of!
It's amazing that these living creatures can see beyond the physical differences and realize that we're all experiencing this crazy thing called life together.
Going beyond just animal relationships, humans can also develop unique bonds with animals you would never expect.
As we see in the video below, an elderly man in Brazil was in his kitchen on October 10, 2014, making some sort of noise near his window. All of a sudden, a creature swoops in from outside and starts fluttering around him.
The man seems delighted and starts speaking to what appears to be an expected friend — his hummingbird companion! As the bird flies throughout the room, the man reaches for a white cloth on the kitchen counter, smiling and speaking to his friend as he goes.
He smiles and lifts the covered present, knowing that it's the reason the bird visits — and to see his human, of course!
