Prentiss Weatherford was sitting on his porch at his home in Louisville, Kentucky, when he witnessed the unthinkable.
A man suddenly rounded the corner of his street, hopped out of his car, and approached a 6-year-old girl who was riding her bike.
Prentiss then watched in horror as the man grabbed the little girl by the shirt, yanked her off her bike, threw her into the front seat of his car, and drove off.
It all happened so fast, but Prentiss had the wherewithal to jump into his own car and chase after the alleged kidnapper.
Prentiss took note of the suspect's red Dodge Challenger and got the last three digits of the license plate number before losing sight of the car.
Within minutes, the police department was on a mission to track down the car in question, all thanks to Pretiss' efforts. He was even able to capture the moment the cops caught the suspect and opened his car door — where they found the terrified girl.
Now police are hailing Prentiss as a hero for his quick thinking.
