Man Reaches Out Of His Car To Help A Friendly Elk Shed His Winter Coat

Driving to my mom's house way out in the woods of Oklahoma, I can usually count on seeing at least one wild deer cross my path. It's something you have to keep an extra close eye out for, especially at night, but it's worth it to see their beautiful faces for even just a moment. If I'm really lucky, I'll get another chance to watch them scamper around when I walk down the dirt road to the nearby lake.

I've never tried to get up close with them, though, not wanting to bother the little families going about their day. I have to admit, I am super-jealous of the folks who have had the opportunity to meet those extra-friendly deer that march right up to them to say hello! I can only imagine how incredible that experience must be. Especially for a youngster, like the little girl who got to feed an elk, the largest breed in the deer family, right from the palm of her hand.

While visiting the very same safari park in Quebec, Canada, this dad took the reins when a friendly young elk stopped by their car. Standing right next to their window, the cutie allows the man to gently remove his excess winter coat in preparation for the warmer summer months. It looks like he's moving around specifically requesting relief from various areas on his body! After a moment, the man's daughter is delighted to share a yummy carrot with the handsome animal.

Take a look to see when the elk gets up close and personal with the dad.

And be sure to SHARE the amazing moment with your friends!
